Board members are the fiduciaries who steer our organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as by making sure our nonprofit has adequate resources to advance our mission.
One of the most important responsibilities for our board is to hire and set the compensation of a talented CEO/executive director to run the day-to-day management activities of the organization. When there are paid staff in place, rather than steer the boat by managing day-to-day operations, board members provide foresight, oversight, and insight. As a board member, you play an important role as an advocate for the nonprofit's mission (National Council of Non-Profits). We are looking for board members who meet the following:
Have strong support and belief for our mission.
Can provide network and growth in for our organization
Have leadership experience in education access for students in the Central Valley.
Once a month meeting via zoom.
