About The Event

The 2021 Central Valley Scholars Fundraiser invites friends, supporters, and advocates who carry our mission in creating accessible pathways towards higher education for historically underserved communities in the Central Valley. In this virtual event, get to meet the leaders of our important services, hear a special speech from renowned author and Harvard professor Anthony Jack (He/Him), participate in a Q&A, and enter in the chance to win a signed copy of Mr. Jack's book The Privileged Poor

All funds will be used to continue our existing services - including workshops, scholarships, and specialized programing - for the 2022 year.

Anthony Jack (He/Him)

Award winning author of The Privileged Poor 

Anthony Abraham Jack, gender pronouns he/him, is an Assistant Professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Shutzer Assistant Professor at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. He has written for the New York Times and the Washington Post, and his research has been featured on The Open Mind, All Things Considered, and CNN. The Privileged Poor was named an NPR Books Best Book of 2019.
