Board Member
Jose III is a higher education professional from Merced, California, currently serving at California State University, Fresno. He brings over five years of experience in student affairs and academic administration, with a focus on student success, mentorship, and expanding access to higher education across the Central Valley.
A two-time Fresno State graduate, Jose holds a B.A. in History and an M.S. in Counseling with an emphasis in Student Affairs and College Counseling. He is completing his Ed.D. in Higher Education & Student Affairs at St. Cloud State University, where his research examines the relationship between financial transparency and institutional trust during periods of budget reallocation.
Jose has held multiple leadership roles with the California College Personnel Association, including President, and is currently finishing his term as Past-President (January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025). He was recently elected to the ACPA-College Educators International National Leadership Council (April 1, 2026–March 21, 2029) and appointed to the Central Valley Scholars Board (January 1, 2026–December 31, 2027).
