Clarke-Lauren Richard, (She/Her)
Executive Director

I am honored to introduce myself as the new Executive Director of Central Valley Scholars. My name is Clarke-Lauren Richard (she/her), and I am a Black woman, an advocate, and an educator deeply committed to ensuring that all students, especially those from historically marginalized communities, have the support they need to thrive.

As a second-generation college student, my journey in education has been shaped by lived experiences navigating systems that were not designed for students like me. Born in San Bernardino, CA, I moved to the Central Valley in 2010, where I began my academic path at the College of the Sequoias before transferring to Fresno State. There, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism and a Master’s in Student Affairs and College Counseling, a journey that deepened my passion for educational access, equity, and empowerment.

With over a decade of experience in higher education, I have dedicated my career to dismantling systemic barriers, advocating for students of color, and fostering inclusive learning environments. I understand the power of representation, mentorship, and community, and I bring a deep commitment to ensuring that every student, regardless of background or identity has the resources, guidance, and support to succeed.
