About Joseph (He/Him)

Joseph Lindsay is the Associate Director of Admissions and Scholarship Programs at Berkeley Law. Joseph previously served as the Director of Financial Aid at Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State for 10+ years, and most recently as an Admissions Coordinator at Texas A&M University School of Law in the Office of Admissions. In years past, he was an instructor for Future Sun Devils Program and ASU’s Upward Bound Program for first-generation and/or low-income college-bound students. He currently serves as a facilitator for the Pathways to Law Program for Native Students and he is the incoming Co-Chair for Berkeley's Native American Staff Council. Joseph attended Arizona State University and is originally from the Colorado River Indian Tribes Reservation in Parker, Arizona.

About Edwin (He/Him)

Edwin grew up in San Diego and is a first-generation college student currently in his second year at Berkeley Law. After graduating from UC San Diego in 2010 as a Literature major, he joined Teach For America and moved to New York City. There, he earned a master’s degree in education and spent seven years working at low-income schools in Brooklyn. During that time, Edwin also helped train the organization’s curriculum instructors. In 2017, gearing up for a new career in international law, he moved to Frankfurt, Germany.

While living abroad, Edwin prepared for and completed the law school application process, flying back to New York City to take the LSAT. With UC Berkeley as his North Star, he applied through the school’s binding early decision program, which offers an automatic $75K scholarship. In July 2019 he returned to California to start his studies. At Berkeley Law, Edwin is focusing on international business law. He is also involved in affinity groups such as La Raza Law Students’ Association and Queer Caucus.

Webinar Description:

The Central Valley Scholars Law School Webinar, hosted by Edwin Gonzalez (He/Him) and Joseph Lindsay (He/Him), will focus on the law school experience, strategizing for the LSAT, navigating the application process, the nuts & bolts of financial aid, and how to (finally!) select a school after receiving offers.
