Listed below are the recording and slides of our Picking The Right College webinar held on April 21, 2022.
About The Webinar
We understand that many Central Valley students, especially those who are underserved, go through the college process alone, with little to no resources or people to turn to. And we also understand that the college admissions process creates a unique challenge, in which students are attempting to understand their college offer letters and make a decision that will impact their lives for the next four or more years - all the while, still having to manage constant shifts in education because of the pandemic.
Our "Picking The Right College" webinar tackles this issue, by providing free support for students, specifically Central Valley students with marginalized identities, who are currently in their college decision process. This webinar will provide a step-by-step breakdown on the following:
Determining out of pocket costs for a specific university
Taking a critical approach on college rankings
Factors to consider when picking a college
Dealing with rejections
Learning affirmations and student autonomy
While tailored for students, this webinar would also be helpful to educational leaders (teachers, parents, counselors, siblings, etc.) who are seeking to support the next generation of students in their higher education trajectories.
